Father Tom Composto

A friend of the farm and leader in the community has passed away this week.

Dear Friends,

I hope that this email finds you well, although I am writing to you with a heavy heart.  Father Tom Composto, our beloved friend and the heart and soul of the St. Francis Neighborhood Center for over 40 years, passed away yesterday, March 16th, due to complications with pneumonia.   Tom died peacefully and his legacy will live on through the countless lives that he touched, and through the work of the St. Francis Neighborhood Center.   We will all miss him dearly.

Services will be held in celebration of Tom’s life:

The service will be on Saturday, March 19th, at 10am at the St. Francis Neighborhood Center (2405 Linden Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21217) and will be followed by a potluck and parade.  Everyone is welcome to contribute to the potluck by bringing a dish.

The family has requested that donations are sent to the St. Francis Neighborhood Center in lieu of flowers.

With Love,

Sarah Tarighi Murphy

Executive Director

St. Francis Neighborhood Center

Tom was, is, and always will be one of the most important people in my life. I am fortunate for having met him, honored to have known him, and deeply saddened by his untimely passing. The world is a better place for your having passed through, Tommy, and I’ll miss you more than I can ever express with mere words.

“Sleep well, sweet prince; And flights of angles sing thee to thy rest.”

  2. I am so happy to have known Father Tom. I didn’t get as much time with him as others, but I am grateful for what time there was.
